Objectives: To address, through a literature review, the importance of radiological and tomographic findings in cases of appendiceal mucocele. Methodology: This is a literature review work in which the Pubmed, Scielo and BVS database was used, addressing the importance of radiological findings in the area of medicine in general, in patients affected by appendiceal mucocele, using the words -key “Mucocele”, “Appendix”, “Cystic mass”. Results: 10 significant publications were found. The analysis occurred through analytical and interpretative readings. It was found that diagnostic imaging methods are an important part in the management of patients with neoplasms that obstruct the appendiceal lumen. Final considerations: Imaging exams were highlighted as relevant for the management of this pathology and the lack of clinical imaging findings in the literature, which justifies the importance of further studies on the subject.
