Introduction: Thyroid hormones play a crucial role in regulating cell growth, metabolism and cell differentiation. Its influence on the progression and therapeutic response of prostate cancer has been the subject of study, given that the thyroid interacts directly with the endocrine system and can modulate fundamental processes for carcinogenesis. The complexity of hormonal pathways and their interconnection with prostate cancer requires a systematic analysis of the literature to comprehensively understand this relationship. Objective: To carry out a systematic review of the literature to analyze the influence of thyroid hormones on the progression and therapeutic response of prostate cancer. Methodology: The methodology adopted for this systematic review, in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, involved searching for articles in the PubMed, Scielo and Web of Science databases, focusing on publications from the last 10 years. The descriptors used were "thyroid hormones," "prostate cancer," "tumor progression," "therapeutic response," and "endocrine modulation." The inclusion criteria covered studies that explore the relationship between thyroid hormones and prostate cancer, published in the last 10 years, while the exclusion criteria were applied to studies that do not address this relationship, present inadequate methodologies or are not available in full text. This approach allowed for a comprehensive analysis of recent literature on the topic, seeking to consolidate relevant information about the influence of thyroid hormones on the progression and therapeutic response of prostate cancer. Results: Literature analysis revealed a complex association between thyroid hormones and cancer prostate cancer, highlighting its influence on tumor progression and therapeutic efficacy. Several studies have indicated hormonal modulations as potential therapeutic targets. Conclusion: This systematic review highlights the importance of the interaction between thyroid hormones and prostate cancer, providing a comprehensive view of the role of these hormones in disease progression and response to treatments. Understanding these mechanisms can guide future therapeutic approaches and open new perspectives for the clinical management of prostate cancer.
