This literature review focuses on the use of local anesthetics during dental care in heart patients, with the objective of studying the main local anesthetics with vasoconstrictors, complications and conducts to be followed regarding their use in patients with cardiovascular diseases. To carry out this work, searches were carried out in the database of, Scielo, PubMed, Medline and VHL (Virtual Health Library). Current articles were used, taking as a time frame the years 2019 to 2023, searched in the databases as the following descriptors: Vasoconstrictor Substances, Cardiopaths, Local Anesthetics. It is concluded that complications during clinical dental interventions in patients with cardiovascular diseases can be avoided through the dental surgeon through the performance of a detailed anamnesis, prior knowledge about the anesthetic solutions, emphasizing that the use of the vasoconstrictor is not contraindicated, as long as it is known when to intervene, and what are the absolute contraindications and that the maximum dosage of the anesthetic is respected during the care.
