Introduction: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental health is complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Objective: To identify the scientific evidence on the mental health of nurses who worked on the front line during the COVID-19 pandemic and thus understand the importance of their mental well-being. Methods: This is a study based on a literature review on the BIREME platform, using the LILACS and BDENF databases, with a time frame of five years. Data were collected from April to May 2022. Results and Discussion: At the end of the refinements, 11 articles were selected and after reading, three categories emerged: Main resources for support and development of nursing professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic ; Mental health and the recurrence of depression and anxiety in nursing professionals facing the COVID-19 pandemic and The psychosocial impact caused in nursing professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusion: When observing the aspects of "Nurses' Mental Health During the Pandemic", we can observe that there was an increase in depression and anxiety of these health professionals.
