Breast care is of fundamental importance for women's health as a whole, preventing the emergence of pathologies such as breast cancer, which is one of the biggest causes of mortality among women in Brazil and around the world. The general objective of this work is to identify how health professionals can detect breast cancer early and guide women appropriately about treatment. The literature review methodology was used, based on the years 2020 to 2023. In Brazil, excluding non-melanoma skin tumors, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in all regions, with higher rates in South and Southeast regions. For the year 2023, 73,610 new cases were estimated. Women should observe their breasts whenever they feel comfortable. Therefore, the importance of disseminating information about breast cancer; its signs and symptoms. So that, when any possible sign and/or symptom is found, the woman seeks appropriate medical follow-up.
