The extraction of cannabinoids present in the plant can be used before, during and after treatments for oral pathologies. This is possible due to the analgesic, anxiolytic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects that cannabinoids have. They act on the endocannabinoid system by binding to its receptors that are present in the nervous and immune systems. Objective: It consisted of investigating the therapeutic potential of Cannabis sativa derivatives. identifying its effects, risks and indications for dental use. Original articles published between 1965 and 2023, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and case reports were included. Conclusion: There is a range of possibilities for the medicinal use of Cannabis in the dental field, proving to be a safe and highly effective medicine.
