Abstract

Pharmaceutical attention aims to improve the quality of life of a patient with systemic arterial hypertension. Describing the importance of pharmaceutical care for patients diagnosed with systemic arterial hypertension and the possible problems of lack of adherence to medication treatment. Studies show that patients with systemic arterial hypertension who undergo pharmacotherapeutic monitoring with Pharmaceutical attention show greater adherence to treatment, with a reduction in blood pressure values. is also efficient in recognizing and solving problems related to medications, which may cause a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. Systemic arterial hypertension is a multifactorial clinical condition characterized by high and sustained blood pressure levels. Patients with hypertension generally adhere to drug treatment incorrectly, causing a decrease in the effectiveness of the drugs, either due to an inadequate dose or storage in an incorrect location, thus leading to loss of drug activity or an interaction with other medications or even with food. The pharmaceutical professional plays the role of promoting the rational and correct use of medications, clarifying the appropriate form of use, promoting adherence to treatment and thus ensuring a better quality of life for patients with Systemic arterial hypertension. The correct use of medications is one of the factors predominant factors for treatment success. The research methodology used was a quantitative and integrative literature review. In this sense, the work was based on articles, reprints, monographs, dissertations, theses and books that were accessible for consultation in the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Google Scholar, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Sciences of Health (LILACS), and using the Virtual Health Library (VHL), Department of Health and Ministry of Health. The terms used to obtain data following the Health Sciences Descriptors are: Pharmaceutical assistance, Systolic arterial hypertension, Treatment complement, Pharmaceutical treatment, Antihypertensive. The scientific materials were chosen using the importance scale as a criterion. They include the complete availability of original works published between 2019 and 2023, in Portuguese, English or Spanish, with content relevant to the topic. Articles outside the proposed topic, literature reviews and publications prior to 2019 were disregarded.Pharmaceutical attention aims at reasonable medication treatment and obtaining measurable results, as it is defined as the direct interaction between the pharmacist and the patient, making it essential to reduce possible medication-related problems. It is concluded that systemic arterial hypertension is the disease that kills more people in the country than any other and has the lowest control rate, which contributes to the general population's lack of interest in treatment. Pharmacotherapeutic monitoring is a fantastic alternative that aims to improve the quality of medication use, where they achieve standardized and concrete results.
