Abstract

In recent years, civil construction in Brazil has made great advances, achieving a significant increase in buildings, however, along with the increase in the number of projects, construction failures also increase, causing pathologies. The theme of this research will be the pathologies of civil construction, pathology is the study of damage caused to works and buildings. The general objective of the study will be to analyze the concept of construction pathology. The research discussed in this article has properties and diagrammatic approaches related to the topic of civil engineering pathology, uses statistical data to analyze and describe the complexity of the study, analyzes and evaluates aspects specifically related to this topic. That through dialogues between the authors cited in the bibliographic study, we can better understand the topic in question. The methodological procedures used in this article are based on bibliographic studies, scientific articles and the Internet, which served as the basis for the development and learning of this research. The results of the research are clear, objectives related to the pathologies of civil construction as well as the factors causing this damage, the importance of maintenance, standards and mainly the professionalism of civil works.
