Bipolar Disorder (BD) is characterized by alternation in the patient's mood, which can be euphoric (mania/hypomania), depression or mixed episodes, with interspersed periods of normality, which ends up compromising their performance at work, in affective and family relationships. This study aimed to analyze neuropsychological impairment in patients diagnosed with TB. We also seek to describe how psychology can contribute to the treatment of symptoms and its relevance in psychotherapeutic intervention. The methodology consists of a literature review of a theoretical nature using the bibliographic and exploratory research method. The materials used were books, monographs, dissertations, theses and scientific articles available in Scielo, BV-Saúde and Pepsic databases published between 2015 and 2022. Based on the analysis of the material, it was understood that neuropsychological changes in patients People with TB may have cognitive and functional deficits that compromise their well-being, especially when associated with other psychiatric disorders. This occurrence may increase impairments in the neurocognitive domains of memory, attention, cognitive flexibility and executive functions. It is concluded that psychology has methods and techniques that provide patients with adequate treatment focused on preventing and reducing symptoms, thus improving their quality of life.
