The research uses the deductive method, analyzing legislation, case studies and relevant literature. The results highlight that virtual fraud damages not only the financial aspect, but also the dignity and honor of the victims, causing significant emotional damage, such as shame and humiliation. Brazilian legislation offers a solid basis for compensation for moral damages resulting from virtual crimes, with courts recognizing the civil guilt of perpetrators of virtual fraud. Furthermore, prevention plays a key role in addressing these crimes, involving awareness of digital risks, education and security measures.
