Rhinomodelation is a non-surgical procedure for correction of the external part of the nose, using the injectable technique, particularly hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a biopolymer that is used for filling and hydration purposes, being proven efficient and recognized worldwide for its positive and beneficial characteristics. However, every procedure that uses this injectable has its risks and requires strictly necessary care, so that unwanted complications (Necrosis) do not occur. Necrosis is an event that occurs when there is cell death, causing changes visible to the naked eye in the affected area. Some studies have investigated the increase in necrosis after rhinomodelation and reveal that there is currently a considerable number of cases of necrosis. Therefore, the objective of this work was to carry out a literature review with the aim of discussing how rhinomodelation works and the main complication caused by this technique (necrosis), carrying out a search in the scientific databases Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), National Library of Medicine (PubMed), scientific journals, repositories of renowned universities and scientific articles from other higher education institutions in Brazil.
