In this study, we performed a comprehensive literature review of the most recent advances in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). CVDs remain a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, requiring continued efforts to reduce their impact on public health. Prevention remains a key pillar, with an emphasis on promoting a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular physical activity and smoking cessation. Furthermore, new findings highlight the importance of sleep quality in preventing CVD. In treatment, innovative pharmacological therapies, such as PCSK9 inhibitors and new anticoagulants, are demonstrating effectiveness in reducing cardiovascular risk. Minimally invasive cardiac intervention techniques are allowing safer and more effective procedures, with faster patient recovery. This study also highlights gene therapy research as a promising prospect for treating inherited heart conditions. However, significant challenges remain, including accessibility to advanced treatments, addressing emerging risk factors, and equity in access to cardiovascular care. Ultimately, the fight against CVD is an ongoing journey, but with multidisciplinary approaches and continued innovation, there is hope that we can reduce the incidence and severity of these diseases, thereby improving global cardiovascular health and promoting a healthier future for people. future generations.
