Abstract

Considering that mental disorders are currently among the main causes of absence from work, the objective is to understand the main causes of illness due to burnout syndrome in people management employees within organizations, discussing the importance of these organizations' perspective on health mental health of its employees, thus highlighting the importance of the role of the psychologist in the prevention and treatment of this syndrome. To this end, a bibliographical review is carried out using the Scielo database through scientific articles and books that talk about work relationships, human resources, burnout syndrome and therapy. It is based on the hypothesis that, knowing that currently “mental and behavioral disorders” have increased absence from work - and it continues as a growing wave -, it will be observed whether what has led to this increase in these statistics could be a disregard on the part of the employer for the mental health of its employees.
