Abstract

The search for innovative approaches in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease has been a growing focus in the health area, given the increasing prevalence and impact of this neurodegenerative condition. This article explores the latest therapeutic strategies and their impact on the current clinical setting. The first innovative approach addressed is the use of monoclonal antibody-based therapies, which target specific pathological targets, such as beta-amyloid protein. These therapies have demonstrated the ability to modify the course of the disease and reduce the burden of amyloid plaques in the brain, although persistent challenges must be faced. Another focus is on immune modulation and understanding the interactions between the gut microbiota and the immune system. Recent studies highlight the influence of gut health on the progression of Alzheimer's disease, which opens the door to therapies targeting neuroinflammation. The personalization of treatment based on genomic analysis and biomarkers represents a paradigm shift in the approach to the disease. This strategy allows the precise adaptation of the treatment to the individual characteristics of the patient, improving efficacy and reducing side effects. The integration of multidisciplinary therapies, involving different health professionals, aims to treat the patient in a holistic way. This approach considers not only the cognitive aspects, but also the physical, emotional and social aspects of the disease, providing a more complete and comprehensive care. The incorporation of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies stands out as a powerful tool for early diagnosis, monitoring and development of treatments. These innovations offer unprecedented insights and have the potential to revolutionize the way we approach Alzheimer's disease. In summary, the innovative approaches analyzed in this article represent a promising step towards more effective and personalized treatment of Alzheimer's disease. While challenges remain, continued progress in this field offers renewed hope for patients, families and healthcare professionals involved in the care of these vulnerable individuals.
