Abstract

The involvement of pregnant women in SARS-CoV-2 infection is a new scenario

that requires several studies, and this group is at risk for a new disease due to changes in their immune system during pregnancy, which can lead to prematurity at this time. of childbirth and the establishment of a pre-eclampsia picture. The study aims to clarify the relationship between maternal involvement and the fetal consequences mentioned above The databases used were the National Library of Medicine, Virtual Health Library and Directory of Open Access Journals through the descriptors: "covid-19", "pre-eclampsia" and "pregnancy" using the Boolean operator "e" . The filters used were Journal article, clinical trial, open access articles, articles published in English, French and articles published in the period 2020-2021. Two consequences of infection by the Sars-CoV-2 virus, which causes covid-19, in the body of women during pregnancy were addressed, these consequences being premature birth and pre-eclampsia. According to the present study, although precarious data sources, prematurity is presented as more frequent, occurring more often when compared to pre-eclampsia. At present, vertical transmission is still considered unlikely even though there is potential for functions to affect placental function and fetal development, although the field of research in this area is still precarious.
