Abstract

Traumatic abdominal hernia is an injury characterized as a result of the protrusion of intra-abdominal content through an area of muscle wall defect, commonly associated with the blunt blunt trauma mechanism, mostly associated with trauma in transit. It is rare and little reported in the literature, being first described by Shelby more than 100 years ago.
