Abstract

This article provides a brief reflection and opening for forthcoming debates on the growing ennoblement and stimulus to centralization in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, how it occurred and why this process has been stimulated and the impacts that have been experienced by the local society, which mostly has low purchasing power considering that Nova Iguaçu is a peripheral city, in relation to the State of Rio de Janeiro.
