ATENÇÃO PSICOLÓGICA PRESTADAS EM UNIDADES DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA: AO PACIENTE, FAMILIARES E AOS PROFISSIONAIS DE SAÚDE

Abstract

The intensive care unit (ICU) is marked by complex situations in which feelings of suffering, fears, insecurities, anxieties and revolts develop in patients and their families, where there is a constant struggle between survival and death. Psychological interventions are intended to help patients with their illness, aiming to minimize the anxieties caused by the ICU and thus provide assistance to their families and all health professionals. The present work is a bibliographic review that is based on several authors who deal with the topic of psychological care provided in an intensive care unit.
