GLOMERULONEPHRITIS MEMBRANOPROLIFERATIVE: FROM FAST EVOLUTION TO RENAL FAILURE - CASE REPORT

Abstract

Memanoproliferative glomerulonephritis constitutes a pattern of glomerular injury constitutes a pattern of glomerular injury, which may present with microhematuria and non-nephrotic proteinuria (35%), with nephrotic syndrome with minimal reduction in renal function (35%), with chronically progressive GN (20%) or with nephritic syndrome with rapid deterioration of renal function, proteinuria and RBC casts (10%). Fifty to 80% of patients have hypertension, sometimes so severe that the condition can be confused with malignant hypertension. This case report details a case of membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN) associated with HBP in a 45-year-old patient who rapidly evolved to acute renal failure with subsequent need for renal replacement therapy and planning for kidney transplant surgery. Emphasizing laboratory changes in creatinine and urea, in addition to renal biopsy.
