Objective: To develop an instructional course on needle thoracic decompression for nurses working in urgent care, emergency services, and prehospital care. Method: A methodological, descriptive, and applied study aimed at developing a digital educational technology. The development was based on a literature search conducted in the Virtual Health Library, SciELO, LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, and Google Scholar databases, as well as a review of protocols, guidelines, and regulatory documents. The process included organizing scientific content, producing audiovisual resources, and developing a virtual learning environment using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Results: An instructional course was developed, comprising six modules, thirteen lessons, thirteen supplementary PDF materials, thirteen interactive activities, and a final assessment consisting of ten questions. The technology incorporated video lessons, practical demonstrations using mannequins, sequential navigation, and the option to issue completion certificates. Conclusion: The course constitutes a structured educational technology with the potential to support nursing training and continuing professional development. However, its validity, usability, and educational effectiveness still need to be investigated through expert validation and implementation with the target audience.
