The Academic League of Mineral Processing (LATRAM), affiliated with the Department of Mining Engineering at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), promotes complementary educational activities in the areas of teaching, research, and extension. This study aims to characterize the League’s organizational structure, systematize its main activities and projects, and identify the challenges related to the continuity of its initiatives. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, based on a retrospective survey covering the period from 2024 to 2026, using information provided by current members, documentary analysis of the entity’s Official Statute, and consultation of campaigns and activities published on its social media platforms. The results were organized into three areas: organizational structure, academic and extension activities, and the institutional restructuring process. The initiatives identified include scientific meetings, the dissemination of knowledge about mining, the MinerAÇÃO project, and the Winter Clothing Campaign. Difficulties related to member engagement and project continuity were also identified, leading to measures such as revising the statute, reorganizing internal processes, and improving institutional communication. It is concluded that LATRAM provides a space for participation and complementary learning, with the potential to contribute to academic development and strengthen ties between the university and society. The systematization presented also provides support for planning and improving the League’s future activities.
