This article aimed to analyze the effects of physiotherapy on post-cesarean recovery, addressing not only the functional context but also the aesthetic one. Cesarean section is a widely performed procedure and, despite being safe, it can cause functional and aesthetic changes that interfere with recovery and the woman's quality of life during the postpartum period. In this scenario, physiotherapy plays an essential role in rehabilitation, contributing to pain reduction, mobility recovery, improvement of healing, and strengthening self-esteem. The objective of this study was to analyze the effects of physiotherapy on the functional and aesthetic recovery of women who underwent cesarean section, through a bibliographic review with a qualitative and exploratory approach. For this purpose, the databases BVS, SciELO, LILACS, and PubMed were consulted, considering publications between the years 2022 and 2025. The results highlighted the importance of physiotherapy after a cesarean section, pointing out strategies like tissue mobilization, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, and exercises focused on strengthening the core and pelvic floor. Additionally, preoperative education and telerehabilitation proved to be useful complementary tools to support women's recovery. In short, physiotherapy is key to promoting physical health and emotional well-being postpartum.
