LGBTPhobia is characterized by prejudiced and violent behaviors directed at individuals who do not conform to hegemonic demands regarding sexual orientation and gender identity, and it is rooted in cisheteronormative pillars. Social movements and maternal activism are important tools for struggle, support, and knowledge construction through educational practices that strengthen families and support LGBTQI+ people. Based on these perspectives, the research discussed in this article aimed to understand the contributions of the educational practices of the Mães da Resistência organization within the context of the state of Pernambuco. It is important to highlight that this study is part of a research project funded by CNPq. The methodology employed sought a dialogue between the theory of Qualitative Epistemology and the Extended Case Method. The meanings attributed by the organization's president through her participation in the study pointed to the importance of the educational practices utilized, as well as their contributions to families and LGBTQI+ individuals in the Pernambuco context.
