Abstract

School bullying is a significant issue in the contemporary educational landscape, substantially affecting the emotional, social, and academic development of children and adolescents. It is characterized by intentional, repetitive, and aggressive behaviors involving a power imbalance between the aggressor and the victim, and can manifest physically, verbally, psychologically, or virtually. This article aims to discuss strategies for the early identification of bullying in the school environment, highlighting behavioral, emotional, and physical signs that may indicate situations of victimization or the perpetration of aggression. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of collaboration among schools, families, and the community in creating a safe and welcoming environment. Pedagogical practices focused on social-emotional learning, conflict mediation, and the valuing of diversity are presented as effective avenues for violence prevention. The study also underscores the role of institutional policies and the continuous professional development of educators in fostering effective interventions. Finally, the article advocates for the implementation of ongoing initiatives that encourage mutual respect, empathy, and dialogue—elements fundamental to establishing a culture of peace and tolerance within the school setting. In doing so, it contributes not only to student well-being but also to the development of citizens who are more conscious, critical, and committed to ethical and democratic coexistence.
