This article aimed to describe the epidemiological profile of live births with congenital anomalies in the state of Minas Gerais between 2021 and 2025. This is an observational, cross-sectional, retrospective, population-based epidemiological study conducted by the Department of Epidemiological Analysis and Surveillance of Non-Communicable Diseases of the Health Surveillance Secretariat, analyzing the state of Minas Gerais and information pertinent to live births with congenital anomalies, adopting inclusion and exclusion criteria, as well as investigative variables. Between 2021 and 2025, Minas Gerais presented 8,568 live births with congenital anomalies, with a higher concentration of occurrences in mothers aged 20 to 34 years, a predominance of males, a higher frequency of cesarean deliveries, and almost all births occurring in a hospital setting. The results reinforce the importance of continuously strengthening epidemiological surveillance through the Live Birth Information System and the prevention and early diagnosis actions recommended by the Ministry of Health.
