SAFETY AND EFFICACY OF MINIMALLY INVASIVE PROCEDURES

Abstract

Aesthetic biomedicine has gained increasing relevance in the health scenario in Brazil, especially due to the expansion of minimally invasive procedures, whose applications range from the treatment of facial aging to the correction of body dysfunctions. In view of the increased demand for these services and the emergence of new substances and technologies, questions about patient safety, professional qualification, and the efficacy of clinical protocols have become central to the scientific debate. This study presents a narrative review of the literature with the objective of contextualizing the main procedures performed by biomedical esthetes, discussing their scientific and regulatory basis, and analyzing the risks associated with unqualified practice. The results point to the need for specialized training, judicious use of registered substances and strict compliance with biosafety protocols as indispensable conditions for the ethical and safe practice of aesthetic biomedicine.
