This study analyzed the perception of federal public servants holding the position of administrative assistant at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora regarding institutional actions to promote health and their role in addressing sedentary behavior. This is a qualitative, descriptive-analytical study, developed through semi-structured interviews with federal public servants in the role of administrative assistant. The data were analyzed using content analysis with thematic analysis categories. The results show a predominance of fragmented actions, with limited intersectoral integration and a strong dependence on specific initiatives, which compromises their sustainability. Perceptions about health promotion point to an individualized perspective centered on the practice of physical activity, to the detriment of considering organizational determinants and working conditions. The work environment is characterized mainly by employees with sedentary behavior and ergonomic inadequacies, reinforcing the need for a quality work environment. It is concluded that health promotion in the analyzed context operates in a partial and disjointed manner, demanding the overcoming of approaches centered on the individual and the incorporation of structural strategies that integrate health into institutional planning and work organization.
