Abstract

Three-dimensional (3D) printing has proven to be a promising technology in the treatment of complex fractures, allowing greater precision in both surgical planning and execution. This narrative review analyzed publications from 2015 to 2025 in the PubMed and BVS databases, totaling 91 studies on the topic. The results indicated benefits such as reduced surgical time, lower radiation exposure, and higher accuracy in fracture fixation. The main limitations include high implementation costs, model fabrication time, and lack of standardized protocols. It is concluded that 3D printing is an innovative and effective tool; however, its widespread adoption still depends on cost reduction and professional training.
