Abstract

This article aimed to discuss the relationship between systemic tension and emotional dysregulation, such as impulsivity and affective instability, which is widely studied in the context of personality disorders, especially Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). The study's main objective is to explore the relationship between gut dysbiosis and personality disorders, focusing on how neurotransmitter modulation influenced by gut microbiota can impact personality traits and predispose individuals to the development of conditions like BPD using DataSUS. This research follows an exploratory and descriptive approach with a qualitative methodology. It concludes that the study reinforces the need for further research on the gut-brain axis and its relationship with mental disorders. The use of epidemiological data from DataSUS provides a solid foundation for future investigations, particularly regarding the personalization of therapies based on gut microbiota.
