THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES IN THE TREATMENT OF CHRONIC BRONCHITIS

Abstract

Objective: This article aims to discuss the benefits of alternative therapies, with an emphasis on the use of herbal and homeopathic remedies, in the treatment of chronic bronchitis. Methods: To summarize the following study, the methodology used was a Literature Review, based on Google Scholar, Virtual Health Library (VHL) and PubMed, in addition to articles from the SCIELO electronic databases, considering the period from 2014 to 2024. Results: The authors highlight that anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator droprieties can alleviate the symptoms of the disease. In addition, the homeopathic approach is considered promising, since it is based on individualizing the treatment and stimulating the patient's immune response. Final considerations: Complementary therapies, when associated with conventional treatment, have shown efficacy in improving the prognosis of the disease, reducing the incidence of adverse reactions and promoting a more holistic management.
