Systemic arterial hypertension (sah) is a highly prevalent condition with a low rate of control, and individuals with sah face high morbidity and mortality. Advancing age, a high number of prescribed medications, and a lack of knowledge among medical professionals regarding drug-drug interactions are the primary causes of adverse reactions resulting from such interactions. This study aimed to conduct a literature review of drug-drug interactions involving antihypertensive agents, as evidenced by studies that performed *in vivo* analyses. The research was carried out using the lilacs (latin american and caribbean health sciences literature) and vhl (virtual health library) databases. The drug classes addressed in the articles included: antihypertensives and hypoglycemic agents (n=3); antihypertensives and other antihypertensives (n=4); antihypertensives and herbal medicines (n=2); antihypertensives and nsaids (n=1); antihypertensives and antimicrobials (n=2); antihypertensives and antidepressants (n=1); antihypertensives and statins (n=2); antihypertensives and immunosuppressants (n=1); and antihypertensives and antiarrhythmics (n=1). The results revealed a diverse range of drug-drug interactions involving antihypertensive agents; however, the variety of specific medications analyzed was limited.
