This study aimed to analyze the scientific evidence on the use of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in bone regeneration in dentistry. An integrative literature review was carried out with searches in MEDLINE/PubMed, Science Direct, the Virtual Health Library and Wiley Online Library, including articles in English and Portuguese published between 2020 and 2026. The descriptors were selected from DeCS (Health Sciences Descriptors) and MeSH (Medical Subject Headings). A total of 695 records were found; after removing 78 duplicates and screening 617, 69 were read in full and 8 were included. The included studies showed that PRF has several dental applications, being used in the treatment of periodontal intrabony defects, maxillary sinus floor elevation, alveolar ridge preservation and dental implant osseointegration, alone or combined with other biomaterials. However, its benefits were not observed in all the parameters evaluated. It is concluded that PRF is a potential complementary resource in bone regeneration and may contribute to more effective and biocompatible procedures. Nevertheless, more standardized studies are needed, since those found present different methodological designs and clinical protocols.
