Abstract

Oral rehabilitation with removable dentures represents a treatment option for patients with extensive tooth loss, allowing the restoration of masticatory function, aesthetics, and occlusal balance. This case report describes oral rehabilitation using a maxillary complete denture associated with a mandibular removable partial denture, following a conventional analog workflow. A male patient with controlled systemic comorbidities presented to the dental clinic reporting instability of his existing dentures and aesthetic dissatisfaction. Clinical and radiographic examinations revealed complete maxillary edentulism and Kennedy Class I mandibular partial edentulism. The fabrication of new removable dentures was selected. Initially, diagnostic impressions, dental surveying, and oral preparation were performed. Subsequently, functional impressions, maxillomandibular records, articulator mounting, and denture fabrication were carried out to establish occlusal balance and adequate distribution of masticatory forces. Following denture insertion, clinical adjustments were performed, and oral hygiene instructions were provided. At the clinical evaluation performed six months after denture insertion, satisfactory denture adaptation, retention, and stability were observed, along with an adequate occlusal relationship. The patient reported satisfactory functional performance and satisfaction with the aesthetic outcome. This case demonstrates that the combination of a maxillary complete denture and a mandibular removable partial denture, fabricated through a conventional analog workflow, represents a viable alternative for oral rehabilitation in patients with extensive tooth loss, provided that individualized planning and appropriate clinical execution are ensured.
