BENEFÍCIOS DO ALEITAMENTO MATERNO E INTRODUÇÃO ALIMENTAR SAUDÁVEL

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life is essential for the child's proper growth, in addition to ensuring immunity and preventing future morbidity. However, when the mother is unable to breastfeed or chooses not to, there are infant formulas to replace breast milk. At 6 months, complementary feeding is started, gradually and with the use of a balanced and varied diet. A literature search was carried out on the benefits of breastfeeding and the importance of pharmaceutical counseling in order to guide parents and/or caregivers towards adequate and healthy nutritional choices, taking into account the unique needs of each child. Thus, we conclude that the role of the pharmacist is of fundamental importance in family guidance.
