Abstract

Human life is marked by constant changes and uncertainties; impermanence is inherent to this condition. At some point, individuals will face some kind of problem—whether financial, health-related, psychological, or emotional—that disrupts their previously linear and steady path. When confronted with such challenges, a person must seek resources to help them through this journey, no matter how painful or demanding it may be. One of these resources, deeply rooted in human history, is spirituality. When properly cultivated, spirituality can provide individuals with tools to face difficulties more lightly, improving their quality of life even amid suffering. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effects of spirituality on human resilience in the face of life’s adversities. To achieve this goal, a qualitative research approach will be conducted with individuals who have experienced some form of setback in life and are willing to share their experiences through semi-structured interviews. The sample will consist of participants aged 18 and older. It is expected that the results will contribute to understanding how spirituality relates to resilience and how it supports individuals in coping with adversity.
