This study aimed to analyze the role of physical therapy in home care for bedridden patients, identifying interventions and outcomes described in the scientific literature. This is an integrative, descriptive-exploratory review conducted in the Virtual Health Library, including publications published between 2015 and 2025, in Portuguese, with free access and full text. Of the 33 studies initially found, 18 met the inclusion criteria and comprised the final sample. The results demonstrated that home physical therapy contributes significantly to the prevention of secondary complications, such as contractures, muscle weakness, pressure ulcers, deep vein thrombosis, and respiratory problems. The main approaches identified were kinesiotherapy, individualized therapeutic exercises, respiratory therapy, preventive skin care, and caregiver guidance, favoring improved functionality, comfort, and quality of life. Challenges such as limited home resources and the need for multidisciplinary collaboration were highlighted. It is concluded that home physiotherapy is an effective and humane strategy for bedridden patients, reinforcing the importance of public policies and investments in home care programs that value the role of the physiotherapist in comprehensive care and family support.
