The influence of social media has grown within society and has impacted daily life in general, leading to changes in aesthetic perceptions as well. Thus, this study aims to analyze the use of dental aesthetic procedures influenced by digital platforms, where the focus is no longer on health and well-being, but rather on the relentless pursuit of conforming to a beauty standard dictated by social media. It also addresses the responsibility of the dental surgeon in both the promotion and monitoring of such cases. Articles published between 2014 and 2024 were analyzed, focusing on the relationship between the virtual exposure of aesthetic procedures and the increasing demand for clinics offering these services. The results show that continuous exposure on social media is linked to a growing demand for these interventions, prompting reflection on the role and responsibility of dental surgeons in this context, taking into account biological, ethical, and moral values.
