Syphilis is an infectious disease and a serious public health problem with a history of over 500 years. Caused by the bacterium T. pallidum, described by Schaudinn & Hoffmann in 1905, the disease presents different distinct clinical stages: primary, secondary, and tertiary syphilis, as well as congenital syphilis, each with its specific symptoms. The severity of syphilis poses a significant challenge, given the availability of low-cost treatment, and continues to be a prevalent public health issue today. This study aimed to analyze the incidence of acquired syphilis among men in the health macro-region of Cascavel, Paraná, Brazil, from 2019 to 2022, comparing the data and percentages from the years of highest and lowest prevalence during the study period.
