Abstract

Asphalt micro-surfacing has been a promising solution for the recovery of road infrastructure in Brazil. The technique consists of applying a thin layer of asphalt over the existing pavement, resulting in a significant improvement in road surface quality in a more economical and sustainable way than other forms of repair. This article aims to compare the costs of the micro-surfacing method with traditional resurfacing and demonstrate how its effective use can help in a more economical way to obtain better tread quality on national pavements.
