ACCIDENT AND INCIDENT: DEMYSTIFYING THE EXISTING CONCEPTUAL MISCOMPASS

Abstract

The article discusses the concepts of incident and accident, which are not always properly understood, including by occupational health and safety (OHS) professionals, and also by the media, often causing distorted information. For this, a descriptive and bibliographic study was carried out. It is expected that this article will be a working base for middle and higher-level teachers who teach disciplines related to OHS, and contribute to a better understanding of these concepts, as well as to a better communication process in journalistic coverage.
