Hospital pharmaceutical services encompass a range of activities aimed at the selection, planning, procurement, storage, distribution, dispensing, and rational use of medications. In the context of hospital-based oncology, pharmaceutical services play a fundamental role in promoting patient safety and ensuring the efficacy of pharmacotherapy—particularly given the complexity of cancer treatment protocols, which often involve high-alert medications and carry a significant risk of toxicity. This study examines pharmaceutical practices regarding oncology patients, highlighting the pharmacist's ability to build patient trust and mitigate issues related to resistance toward receiving cancer treatment medications. The research is based on a literature review utilizing recognized scientific sources, drawing on records published between 2018 and 2026 via the SciELO, Scientific Electronic Library, and Google Scholar platforms.
