This study critically analyzes fire safety regulations applicable to Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) systems in buildings, with a focus on the State of Rondônia, Brazil. The growth of electric mobility has expanded the installation of these systems in residences, condominiums, parking facilities, and commercial buildings, highlighting the need to improve fire prevention and protection requirements. Lithium-ion batteries are associated with specific risks, including thermal runaway, reignition, toxic gas emissions, and operational challenges during emergency response. The research is applied in nature, adopts a qualitative approach, and uses a bibliographic-documentary method based on a comparative analysis of the national guideline issued by the National League of Military Fire Departments (LIGABOM) and state regulations established by Brazilian Military Fire Departments. The results reveal converging requirements regarding electrical protection, signage, and fire safety measures, alongside differences in ventilation criteria, structural fire protection, automatic sprinkler systems, electric micromobility, and compliance deadlines for existing buildings. The documentary analysis also identified the absence of specific state regulations on this subject in Rondônia within the scope examined. The study concludes that state-specific regulation by the Military Fire Department of Rondônia (CBMRO) is necessary, drawing on the identified areas of convergence and regulatory best practices to establish minimum safety requirements and support the safe implementation of EVSE systems in buildings.
