The article sought to report the experience of an extension activity aimed at training educators from a Municipal School Group in a municipality in southern Bahia, in airway obstruction removal maneuvers in infants and children. This is an experience report, with a descriptive and qualitative approach, describing an extension activity developed by second-year medical students from a Higher Education Institution in Bahia. The activity took place in a municipal school group and addressed AOFB in infants and children. The action was divided into three stages: 1) distribution of explanatory folders and posters; 2) a “myth or truth” dynamic to assess prior knowledge; and 3) practical simulation of the maneuvers on manikins, supervised by the students. Ten educators participated, all receptive and engaged. After supervision, most performed the maneuvers correctly, despite initial insecurity. Educational materials facilitated content retention and allowed for later consultation. Heterogeneous prior knowledge was observed, with misconceptions corrected throughout the intervention. The activity trained teachers to act in cases of pediatric choking, combining theory and practice. The initiative increased teachers confidence and reinforced the importance of including first aid in the school environment.
