Femur fractures represent a significant public health issue among the elderly population, especially those affecting the proximal region, due to their high incidence, morbidity, mortality, and socioeconomic impact on healthcare systems. This study aims to evaluate the epidemiological profile of hospitalizations due to femur fractures (ICD-10: S72) among individuals aged ≥60 years in the state of Paraná, Brazil, from January 2020 to August 2025, using publicly available data from the Hospital Information System (SIH/DATASUS). The analyzed variables included age group (60–69; 70–79; ≥80), sex (female/male), race/skin color (white/black), and year of hospitalization (2020–2025). This is an observational, descriptive, and quantitative study. A progressive increase in hospitalizations was observed over the analyzed period, with a predominance among females and individuals aged ≥80 years. These findings may support the development of preventive strategies and public health policies aimed at reducing the incidence of femur fractures in the elderly population.
