Domestic violence against women constitutes a serious social and human rights issue, characterized by persistent gender inequalities and the need for coordinated public policies focused on prevention, protection, and response. Against this backdrop, this study aimed to analyze the occurrence of domestic violence against women in the state of Tocantins. Methodologically, the study was characterized as bibliographic and documentary research employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches; it involved the survey and analysis of scientific articles, legislation, institutional reports, and official data published between 2021 and 2026, drawing particularly on information from bodies such as the Court of Justice of Tocantins (TJTO), the Tocantins Public Security Secretariat (SSP/TO), the Ministry of Women, and the Federal Senate. The results revealed persistent challenges regarding the geographic distribution of services, the availability of human and financial resources, professional training, and the integration of the various agencies responsible for providing care. Nevertheless, Tocantins has made strides in structuring public policies to combat domestic violence. The expansion of the support network, the role of the Judiciary, the granting of urgent protective measures, the establishment of the *Casa da Mulher Brasileira* (Brazilian Women's House) in Palmas, and initiatives to extend services to municipalities in the state's interior.
