This article presents a systematic literature review aimed at mapping compliance practices and management activities within the agribusiness sector. The research is based on studies from the Scopus, Latindex, and SciELO databases published between 2020 and 2025. A narrative synthesis integrated qualitative and quantitative studies, with methodological quality assessed using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. The search identified 3,038 records; results showed that seven empirical studies met the eligibility criteria, suggesting that compliance is becoming established as a strategic governance tool, particularly in more structured organizational environments such as cooperatives and agro-industrial companies. Conversely, significant challenges to compliance adoption are observed—especially among family farmers and within informal management contexts—where adherence to compliance mechanisms tends to be low. The findings suggest that implementing compliance practices can strengthen management and reduce legal and operational risks, while also supporting ESG agendas in the agricultural sector.
