Obstetric violence is a problem related to the quality of care provided to women during pregnancy, labor, childbirth, and the postpartum period. It may involve disrespectful practices, non-consensual interventions, verbal abuse, neglect, lack of information, and disregard for women's autonomy. These experiences may negatively affect different dimensions of health, including physical, emotional, and psychological aspects. This study aims to analyze the scientific evidence regarding obstetric violence and its repercussions on women's physical and mental health. This is an integrative literature review based on scientific studies retrieved from national and international databases, considering publications relevant to the topic. The literature indicates that experiences characterized by disrespect, lack of information, procedures performed without consent, and inappropriate obstetric practices may compromise the childbirth experience and be associated with physical and psychological consequences. Reported repercussions include pain, discomfort, and possible complications related to interventions, as well as fear, anxiety, emotional distress, traumatic perceptions of childbirth, and reduced trust in health services. Studies also emphasize the importance of communication, informed consent, autonomy, and humanized care as fundamental elements for preventing such situations. It is concluded that addressing obstetric violence requires professional qualification, strengthening of good obstetric practices, and organization of health services based on respect, dignity, and women's rights.
