VIOLENCE, SILENCE AND JUSTICE: GENDER VIOLENCE IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY

Abstract

This project aims to analyze gender-based violence in contemporary society, focusing on forms of physical, psychological, sexual, patrimonial, and moral violence, as well as the perpetuation of these practices due to emotional dependence. The research seeks to understand the factors that silence victims, such as fear, shame, and distrust in institutions, and to examine the long-term psychological impacts caused by violence. Furthermore, it analyzes the role of neurobiology and neuroscience in understanding emotional dependence and its influence on the maintenance of abusive relationships. The study is bibliographic and descriptive in nature, based on data from official bodies and recent scientific studies. It is expected to contribute to critical reflection on the dynamics of gender-based violence and the importance of empowerment and psychological support as ways to break the cycle of abuse.
