PERFORMANCE OF THE PHARMACIST IN HEALTH CARE IN COMMUNITY PHARMACIES

Abstract

Community pharmacy is the pharmaceutical establishment that provides primary care to the population, under the technical responsibility of a pharmacist. In recent years, there has been a movement in Brazil seeking to expand the role of the pharmacist and the participation of community pharmacy in the Brazilian health system with the development of clinical pharmaceutical services. To meet this need, there is a change in the profile of the pharmacist that resulted in the updating of the definition of pharmacy and the publication of the RDCs of CFF No. 585 and 586 that regulate the clinical attributions of the pharmacist and the pharmaceutical prescription.
