ADVANCES IN PEDIATRIC RADIOLOGY: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW ON NON-INVASIVE DIAGNOSIS IN CHILDREN

Abstract

Technological advances in pediatric radiology have driven the development of noninvasive diagnostic techniques, providing significant improvements in diagnostic accuracy and safety for children undergoing imaging examinations. This study performed an integrative literature review to analyze recent innovations in this area, with an emphasis on modalities such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, and low-dose computed tomography. The results highlighted relevant clinical benefits, such as reduced radiation exposure, increased diagnostic accuracy, and greater comfort for pediatric patients, as well as challenges associated with the implementation of these technologies, including costs and technical limitations. It is concluded that continued progress in noninvasive imaging techniques can transform pediatric diagnostics, promoting safer and more effective approaches to the care of children.
